AI in L&D: Around the Core

Overview
After a year dominated by talk of agents, we expected this year's data to look different from last year's. Not as much as we thought.
This report, our sixth in this series, draws on a survey of over 500 L&D professionals and four years of analysis of how the field describes its own use of AI.
What we found is a function that has built around its core. Content production and learning design remain the most common uses of AI in L&D, while the work surrounding them has grown considerably. The barriers have changed character, and so has what practitioners expect AI to give them.
One group stands apart. A small number of teams say their organisation now approaches them for different things, and what sets them apart is not how much AI they use, but what they do with it. The report examines who they are and what they do differently.
